Donna K. Crawford, Education Director Donna Crawford is the Education Director of the Illinois Supreme Court Commission on Professionalism. She has primary responsibility for the review and approval of continuing legal education courses and activities for which professional responsibility credit is sought. In collaboration with Commission staff, Donna develops and implements programs and initiatives to enhance the professionalism of lawyers. Donna has extensive experience creating and developing educational programs, projects and organizations. Her accomplishments encompass founding the National Center for Conflict Resolution Education (NCCRE) for the US Departments of Justice and Education and serving as the Executive Director; establishing professional development programs for educators nationwide to advance the implementation of conflict resolution education programs in schools; initiating a youth arts peace education project for the National Endowment for the Arts; and authoring numerous books and multimedia publications. Donna is an experienced public school administrator, mediator, and dispute resolution consultant. Her training in alternative dispute resolution methods includes the Justice Center of Atlanta, Georgia; Divorce Mediation Institute of Ann Arbor, Michigan; and the Harvard University Law School-PIL, Cambridge, Massachusetts. She earned three degrees from the University of Illinois: Bachelor of Science; Master of Education, and Certificate of Advanced Study. Donna wrote and co-produced the films and interactive media for the Emmy-Award winning Take a Stand Stop the Violence campaign for MTV and the Clinton White House. |
